Frequently Asked Questions

Is TeeTime Ireland a golf holiday company?
No. We are a source of information and a booking service. We tell you as much as we can about what is on offer and you decide where you want to go and where you want to play.

Why should we pay you to book teetimes?
You can quickly run up a large telephone bill calling round golf courses many of whom may not answer the phone for large parts of the day or have an answering machine. Are you sure you have left enough time to get from Course A to Course B? Will there be a good place to have dinner after a late summer evening finish? We will save you money and worry.

Will you tell us which courses to play?
We will provide as much information as we can on every course we know of in Ireland (around 400 at the time of writing). If we like a particular course we’ll tell you why or pass on comments from other golfers we trust. If we think a course is overpriced or overrated we’ll you that too and why. We won’t tell you where you should play although we will try to make helpful suggestions matching your profile requirements with our database. The decisions, though, are yours. We promise never to identify any course as a ‘hidden gem’.

What is a hidden gem anyway?
It is a golf course played almost exclusively by North American visitors brought to it by tour companies charging excessive amounts for what are generally reasonable green fees.

Can you make hotel reservations for us?
Anything you want: hotel, car hire, other travel, restaurants, theatre tickets, loan of umbrella (seldom needed), we can sort it out

How far ahead do I have to book?
It depends on where you want to stay and where you want to play. Obviously it can be hard to get on championship courses without booking well ahead but we can pretty much guarantee an interesting itinerary for you even at short notice.

Are green fees refundable in the event of cancellation?
No

What happens if something goes wrong or I need some help once I’m in Ireland?
We’ll give you a telephone number. Call us and we will do our best to get you whatever you need.
